How long do batteries last in Somfy WireFree motor systems?
Somfy’s WireFree™ motors are a convenient way to power your motorized shades and blinds without the need for an electrician. They’re quick to install and you don’t have to worry about concealing wires.
However, as with any battery-powered system, there will come a time when you need to replace the batteries in your WireFree motors. Most Somfy battery wands require eight AA batteries, with lithium batteries recommended.
So just what is the battery life of Somfy’s WireFree motor systems?
The battery life will vary depending on the size of your shade or blind and the frequency of use. A very large shade that you use multiple times a day, for instance, will probably need new batteries quicker than a small shade you rarely operate.
In general, users can expert approximately one year of operation for their WireFree Somfy motors. This estimate is based on a 72” x 72” shade that is operated one cycle per day, with a cycle being the shade moving up once and down once.
